The Introduction to Flying Fox Rescue & Rehabilitation workshop will cover:
- Species Overview – ecological significance
- Flying Foxes species identification
- Rescue situations – barbed, wire, netting & other
- Injuries – assessment, immediate first aid and hydration
- Orphaned babies – rescue situations & equipment
- Practical demo – rescue kit for adults & orphans & housing requirements
Connie Kerr has been working with Bats and Flying Foxes (and many other species of wildlife) for 20 years, starting off with Wires Mid North Coast. Connie has had the privilege through those years to work with all four species of Flying Foxes, Tube-nosed Bats, Blossom Bats and various Microbat species. She has been presenting Bat Training in many different states for multiple wildlife care groups for the past 10 years. With her partner Dave Pinson ( author of the Flying Fox Care manual) they now have a Rainforest Revegetation business in Far North Queensland, as well as the Facebook group BATSonline
